I’m not in the business of pretending I’m perfect. Me, my husband, our two kids (7 and 5) are beautifully imperfect humans. My kids bicker, argue, disagree, and fight over toys. An ongoing conversation in my house revolves around the power of language. The words we put into the world create a rippling impact.
Words are in fact, magic. Science gives us insight into this phenomenon and how the frequency of language can create change at the molecular level. It’s not just our choice of words, but our tone, delivery, and intentions.
Sound Experiments in Medicine
Sound and its specific frequency impact human biology. When applied in medicine, it reduces symptoms, reduces stress, invokes relaxation, and improves outcomes of a myriad of diseases and ailments.
In a study titled Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy Improves Pain Management and More scientists saw improvement in pain management in chronic patients. In another titled Distinct brain structural-functional network topological coupling explains different outcomes in tinnitus patients treated with sound therapy, scientists saw changes in neural network connections. In yet another titled Effects of Sound Interventions on the Permeability of the Blood–Brain Barrier and Meningeal Lymphatic Clearance scientists saw increased brain function which could benefit patients with neurodegeneration including Alzheimer’s disease.
New studies come out every day that support the use of frequencies (via sound) in medical therapies. When we apply this idea to our spoken sounds, we ascertain that the frequency of words affects the health of our bodies. The tone and intention words carry create different vibrations.
Masaru Emoto’s Water Experiments
Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto pioneered the most well-known experiments on the emotional frequency of words. He took isolated glasses of water, and later glasses of cooked rice, and spoke to them in different frequencies over a period of time. One glass was given kind words, another was given words of hate, and another was neglected and ignored. The experiment was done over and over with striking results. The water that received love created beautiful symmetrical crystalline shapes, as seen through the microscope. The water that received hate, was chaotic and unformed.
The same experiment done with rice yielded similar results. This also showed that a control group, or rice that was neglected and not spoken to, showed mold growth as well.
My kids and I did a version of this where we spoke to two separate glasses of water over a period of time, and then put the water in the freezer. The jar that received love created a pretty lattice when frozen. The jar that received hate broke the glass and froze unevenly.
Emoto’s experiments show how words affect water. So it’s important to note that our body composition is mainly water.
No doubt these conversations will continue in my home. We all need reminders to speak kindly to each other, and more importantly to ourselves. Speak to yourself with love, kindness, forgiveness, and understanding. The spells cast with words will ripple out to the world.
With Gratitude,
Crystal
